FLEECING THE FLOCK – AFFINITY FRAUD
SALT LAKE CITY – Jan 28, 2012 - THE ECONOMISTSean Reyes, a lawyer who is running for state attorney-general, supports the creation of a “fraudsters registry”, similar to the one for sex offenders. “It’s amazing how many are repeat offenders,” he says. Utah A.G. candidates quietly raising big bucks
By Robert Gehrke. The Salt Lake Tribune – It hasn’t got the attention of other, higher profile races, but the contest for Utah attorney general has the makings for a big-time cage match, with the campaigns of the top two contenders combining to raise nearly $800,000 last year. Repealing Obamacare: Big Step Toward Restoring Federal Balance
SALT LAKE CITY – March 23, 2012 - SEAN REYES: As I travel the State campaigning to be Utah’s next Attorney General, concerned citizens regularly ask if I would fight against Obamacare. The answer is, unequivocally, yes! Not because I am blind to helping those who cannot afford healthcare insurance or oblivious to the need for improving the quality of healthcare. Rather, because Obamacare is simply the wrong vehicle for getting us where we need to be.

SOPA and PIPA, the Misbegotten Twins
By Sean Reyes. as published in the Salt Lake Tribune. Jan 21, 2012. One of my primary roles as general counsel of a technology company is to protect and enforce intellectual property rights. I spend nearly every day in pursuit of modern-day corporate bandits who have stolen our patents, copyrights or trademarks. That is why I was encouraged when I first heard mention of legislation aimed at curtailing online piracy.

Have You Run for Office Before and What Is Your View of Politicians? I am not a seasoned politician and have never run for office before. My involvement in politics to date has been as a county, state and national (alternate) delegate, precinct leader and member of the State Central Committee along with appointments to serve on various commissions. I have walked precincts to register voters, volunteered at county and state conventions, organized various civics projects, constitutional classes and other educational programs; my model for anyone holding office as a public servant. Politicians care most about getting and staying elected. Public servants care about doing a good job and serving the people.
